Program Introduction:
We've meticulously designed this program to support you; structuring content and courses to offer timely access to essential resources. Our aim is not only to help you adjust to your new position with MU Extension but also to equip you with the knowledge, tools, and resources necessary for success. The Extension Academy covers your first year of employment and consists of three courses.
Included Courses:
- Introduction to University of Missouri Extension
- The primary focus of this course is to guide you through your initial month with University of Missouri and MU Extension. We've gathered information and resources together, in one place, to get you off to a good start. Our goal is to reduce your stress navigating your first month of hire and help you acclimate to MU, MU Extension, and your role.
- Building the Knowledge to Succeed
- By your second month of hire, you may already be delving into programming, perhaps shadowing a colleague. We support your programming efforts with an overview of our impact areas, followed by modules that support our program development model: needs assessment, program delivery, marketing your programs and evaluating and reporting impact.
- Becoming an Extension Rock Star
- The last course in our academy includes additional "need to know" topics such as revenue generation, writing impact statements, virtual program delivery, cultural competencies and much more. This course will serve you well throughout your career with MU Extension.
