Course Overview:
Your efforts to facilitate deep, lasting learning can increase learning transfer and impact. Applying principles of vertical and horizontal alignment during program planning is key. Completing this self-paced course will ensure your programs are aligned so you achieve maximum impact.
Learning Outcomes:
Participants who successfully complete the requirements for the Aligned for Impact badge will be able to:
- Analyze an audience survey to develop program goals.
- Create program goals and outcomes appropriate for audience and identified need.
- Sequence content and scaffold learning to meet program outcomes.
- Develop clear module or session-level learning objectives that are suited to goals of the program and describe what students will learn in measurable and/or observable terms.
- Align outcomes/objectives, assessments, and instructional activities at course and lesson/session/unit levels for an existing extension program.
- Utilize multiple forms of formative assessment with feedback to confirm correct understanding and identify and correct misconceptions.
- Provide opportunities for students to apply skills to novel and authentic problems.
- Create a program map.
