Full course description

Course Overview:
The course is designed to prepare students to address the always-changing issues that leaders face within the fire service. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to apply human resource policies and procedures; recommend action for member-related problems and procedures; select and implement the appropriate disciplinary action based upon the employee's conduct; assign tasks or responsibilities to unit members; coordinate the completion of assigned tasks and projects by members, given a list of projects and tasks and the job requirements of subordinates; direct unit members during a training evolution, given a company training evolution and training policies and procedures; acknowledge career development opportunities and strategies for success; and, discuss various levels of leadership roles and responsibilities within the organization.
