Course Overview:
If you are a new school nurse, have never taught puberty education before, or need to do more than turn on an outdated puberty video, we invite you to this training. There are no prerequisites for this free, self-paced training, just the motivation to complete four modules within a four-month timeframe. The total time for completing this training is no more than two (2) hours. Topics include basic puberty facts, classroom climate, answering student questions, handling difficult questions, parent communication and more. Learning Outcomes:
At the conclusion of this learning activity, we anticipate learners successfully completing all modules will gain:
 1. Improved knowledge regarding common physical, emotional, social and intellectual changes that occur during puberty
 2. Improved confidence to provide quality puberty education to upper elementary students

Credit:

Successful completion of this activity includes participating in the full educational offering (Modules 1-4), participating in the online evaluation process, and completing the online verification of attendance, which enables the learner to satisfy the requirements to claim continuing education.

In support of improving patient care, University of Missouri - Continuing Education for Health Professions is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.  

The University of Missouri – Continuing Education for Health Professions designates this activity for 2.0 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should only claim credit for the actual time spent participating in the activity.
