Course Overview:
More effective treatment options for Missouri adults and youth with obesity are available than ever before. This free training targets the following healthcare professionals: APRN, MD, PA, DO, RN, RDN, RPh, PharmD. The training provides describes intensive/family-based behavioral treatment and medication therapy for patients with obesity. 
 
Contact hours for this course will not be awarded after February 28, 2026.
 
 
Learning Outcomes:
We anticipate learners successfully completing this course will self report an increase in knowledge of:
1.    the elements of intensive behavioral treatment (IBT) and show how to access this treatment for their patients with obesity
2.    recommended evaluation and monitoring practices for patients with obesity before and during use of pharmacotherapy
3.    feasible methods of combining intensive behavioral treatment and pharmacotherapy for patients with obesity
 
Topics:
There is only one module in this course. It contains an edited version of a live webinar, divided into two smaller video recordings on these topics:
 
*review of health behavior changes that help set patients up for success
*options for more intensive behavioral treatment
*prescribing tips to maximize medication safety and efficacy

American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) 
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 1 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
