Full course description

Course Overview:
Smart Manufacturing: Cyber Physical Systems and Smart Manufacturing introduces the core components of cyber physical systems (CPS) and the use of Factory I/O software to model, build, and simulate production environments. Participants will learn how CPS technologies integrate with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) to create highly efficient, data-driven manufacturing systems. The module emphasizes designing simple cyber-physical manufacturing processes and simulating them using Factory I/O connected to a PLC.

This course is part of the Smart Manufacturing micro-credential series. Participants may complete this course as a stand-alone certificate of completion or take all four micro-credentials to earn the Industry 4.0 Certificate in Smart Manufacturing.

A discounted rate is available when enrolling in the full four-course bundle.

Learning Outcomes:
Overview of inspection methods used in smart manufacturing
Introduction to AI based computer vision, including YOLO for object detection
